Meet Lisa Loudermilk

Unchained.Art continues its Austin Artist of the Month program with Austin-based painter Lisa Loudermilk. Loudermilk joins us on October 4 to introduce her work, talk through her process, and walk visitors through what is on view. This is an informal afternoon: come ask questions, look at the work, and meet the artist.
Loudermilk's paintings push minimalism past its own limits. She calls it Baroque Modernism: paint rolled and cut with plastic tools, metallic films sealed under resin, every previous layer staying visible in the final work. The result shifts depending on where you stand and how the light hits it.
Her work stays on view through October 31, when the next Austin Artist of the Month takes over the wall.

Meet Megan Jaster

Jaster's work moves between nature and constructed environments, between the subconscious and the seen world. Born and raised in rural central Texas, she has spent two decades working across Austin, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Los Angeles, building a practice rooted in immersive exhibitions and deep research into archetypes, myth, and human experience.
Her process is deliberate and layered. She begins with her own photography, live models, and research, then constructs digital collages as compositional studies, incorporating AI-generated filters as part of her visual thinking. The final painting is left open to intuition and unforeseen influences. Old Master technique meets a thoroughly contemporary process.
